Modi’s another gift

27/05/2016

The Union Cabinet which met on Wednesday gave its ex post facto approval to amend The Institutes of Technology Act , 1961 for incorporation of new IITs at Tirupati (AP), Palakkad (Kerala), Dharwar (Karnataka), Bhilai (Chhattisgarh), Goa, Jammu (Jammu and Kashmir) and conversion of Indian School of Mines (ISM), Dhanbad to an IIT under the law.
Modi being generous towards Jammu, this time gifted IIT to the people of Jammu. But will the state BJP this time also gift the IIT to Kashmir as earlier also AIIMS was gifted to Kashmir, which was initially sanctioned for Jammu. Later after agitation in the winter capital of the state, center sanctioned AIIMS like facility in Jammu which is no where in sight.
Now it's a wait and watch suitation for Jammu that whether IIT which on Wednesday was sanctioned for Jammu is established here or is again forwarded to Kashmir and Jammu have to agitate and bring it back.
