Congress shall make the Govt accountable, answerable to people: Mir

Jammu, May 26: Congress has said that it will make PDP BJP Coalition Government accountable, answerable and responsive to the issues concerning people. The Party shall continue to expose the wrong policies, failures of the Government and won't allow it (Coalition Govt) to ignore the needs of the people. Addressing a day-long Conference of Active Members of the Party of Dooru Shahbad, JKPCC Chief G.A. Mir has said that Congress shall fight for resolution of the issues concerning people and seek fulfillment of the promises made by PDP and BJP during their Election Campaign.
Castigating the Coalition Govt for failing to address urges and aspirations of the people PCC Chief said that the promises made by PDP BJP with the people have fallen flat, as a result, people in all the three regions feel betrayed and have started realizing that their votes have gone waste.
Stating that people have lost faith in present regime due to anti people polices, PCC Chief said Congress being an effective and vibrant opposition shall make the Government accountable and answerable to the people and shall also use the opportunity of the current session to highlight the anti-people policies and failures of the PDP BJP Coalition in both the houses. Describing the Congress Party as an instrument of service to the people, PCC Chief said that the Party (Congress) shall continue to fight against injustice and seek fulfillment of the promises made with the people and make the Government responsive to the needs of the people.
He said PDP BJP Coalition inorder to secure votes played with the emotions of people and exploited them on sensitive and other issues, despite being opposite to each other, the Coalition Partners kept aside their ideological differences for the sake of coming into power, as a result the people who trusted them are now feeling disappointed and betrayed.
Congress Party has remained dedicated to the cause of serving people and overall development of the State, he assured that it (congress) will continue to remain steadfast in serving the people to the best of its ability, G.A. Mir said. Referring to the Active Members Conference, PCC Chief said that the Party is going to organize such type of conferences across the state inorder to involve the newly enrolled members in organizational activities aiming to further rejuvenate the organization. On this occasion PCC Chief asked the Party Cadres to reach out to the people in every nook and corner of the State and educate them about the programmes and people policies of the Party, he added.
He said people in Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh have realized that it is the Congress Party alone which is capable of serving and addressing the urges and aspirations of the people in all the three regions. He felt confident that the day is not far when BJP in Jammu and PDP in Kashmir will be wiped out completely due to their anti-people and wrong policies. He said Congress Party represents urges and aspirations of the people fully and is committed to equitable development of all the three of the State.
He said Government's unfriendly approach and response to the rising unemployment problem, regularization of casual labours and daily rated workers is very unfortunate. Addressing the Conference Former Minister and Senior Congress Leader Taj Mohi U Din said that Congress Party believes in serving & strengthening the people and will continue to work for equitable development of all the three regions. He urged upon the Party Cadres to work for strengthening the party to the best of their ability.
