NEW DELHI, Jul 28: Pakistan's role in sponsoring terrorism against India was yet again exposed after Bahadur Ali told officials that he crossed into India from Leepa Valley in Pakistani Kashmir two months ago.
In a major blow to Pakistan, Saifulla Bahadur Ali, the terrorist who was nabbed during a gunfight in Kupwara district on July 25, today confessed before the National Investigation Agency (NIA) that he is from Lahore.
Pakistan's role in sponsoring terrorism against India was yet again exposed after Ali told officials that he crossed into India from Leepa Valley in Pakistani Kashmir two months ago and was operating under the nom de guerre Saifullah.
The 21-year-old, who was airlifted to the National Capital today for further interrogation, said that he was trained by Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists and he had infiltrated into India with two others to take advantage of the unrest in Kashmir.
Sources said that the captured terrorist belonged to Jahama village near Raiwind area of Lahore. Ali had entered India with Saad bhai and Darda bhai.
While Saad bhai was an ameer of the LeT and had reportedly undergone Daur-e-Khas training, Ali was trained in a terror camp in Chela Bandi in Muzaffarabad. He also attended the Daur-e-Aam training after he learnt of the atrocities on Kashmiris in India.
Revealing further information, officials said that the trio entered India with the help of a guide to the country. According to Ali, Saad and Darda bhai were killed in an encounter with security forces in mid-July.
Ali, who was carrying UBGL, 9 grenades and AK 47, hid his weapons in Manasbal forest. A radio set was also recovered from him.
"Some crucial disclosures made by the militant have not been made public because of their operational importance," a police source said.
With the above revelations, India is now set to hand over a fresh dossier to Pakistan, consisting of evidence of Pakistani terrorist Bahadur Ali.
