Debate competition organised at government degree college,Mmendhar

Jammu, Aug 28 :A Debate Competition was organised at Government Degree College, Mendhar in Poonch district recently. The young voices were loud and audible and generated enough discussion amongst the audience as well. The event was organised for the Colleges of Poonch District by the Army with active co-operation of the College staff. Students from Government Degree College, Surankote, Government Degree College, Mendhar and Muqaddas Degree College, Mendhar participated in the said competition. Miss Assiya of Muqaddas Degree College was adjudged as the Best Debater while Master Wahid of Surankote Degree College was declared the Runner up.
The speakers were felicitated by the Chief Guest Dr. Javed Ahmed Qazi, Principal Government Degree College. Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Guest exhorted the participants for their effort and encouraged them to make the best use of such a platform to display their writing and public speaking skills. He also laid emphasis on the importance of increasing awareness by debating and listening to counter-arguments amongst the youth for understanding the difference between "Right and Wrong". Parents and the elders of the adjoining areas applauded the efforts of the Army for providing a platform to youth of Poonch District for deliberating on a contemporary issue that affects one and all.
