Jammu Police arrests a hardcore criminal with weapon & ammunition

JAMMU, Feb 17: Gangyal Police achieved a major success when a hard core criminal was arrested with 12 bore double barrel gun. Acting on specific information, a special naka was laid at Seohra and a notorious criminal apprehended who was identified as Parmjeet singh @ Murga @ Pankaj S/O Harnam Singh R/o Seohra, Gangyal-Jammu.
On his personnel search, a 12 bore double barrel gun alongwith 5 live cartridges of 12 bore gun, 18 cartridges of pistol and one cartridge of 315 gun were recovered.
In this connection case F.I.R No 15/2017 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Gangyal. Police by timely and swift action averted a major incident and action of the Police has been appreciated by inhabitants of the locality.
The arrest and recovery was made by Inspr. Aijaz Wani, SHO P/S Gangyal under the supervision of SDPO City South, Rafiq Manhas and SP City South, Sandeep Choudhary, IPS. More arrests and recoveries are expected.
