Farmers tour organised by army

Jammu, Jun 20: The ten day tour to a fully automated high technology farm at Pushkar (Rajasthan) for farmers of the border villages of Khour Tehsil, of Jammu District which was flagged off on 11 June 2017, concluded with a colorful flag-in ceremony, today. A total of fourteen couples of the border areas were part of the tour which was organised by the Army.
During the tour the Farmers were exposed to a fully automated high technology farm,learnt about cucumber farming in an automated environment and other modern farming techniques which can be used to increase farm productivity.
The tour which commenced from Khour first halted at Amritsar where they visited the famous Golden Temple.
The next halt scheduled was at Bikaner from where they proceeded to Pushkar. The visit to automated farm was conducted over two days.
After Pushkar, the farmer couples were taken to Jaipur where they got an opportunity to interact with Shri Kalyan Singh, Hon'ble Governor of Rajasthan at Jaipur besides doing sight-seeing at Jaipur and then at Ajmer.
The tour finally ended with a grand flag in ceremony wherein the couples thanked the Army for providing them with this unique opportunity to visit various places and learn about new farming techniques.
