PDD Daily Wagers Union strike enters 206th day

Jammu, Jun 20: The J&K P.D.D. Daily Wagers of Jammu District under the Chairmanship of Mr. Surjeet Khajuria-President of the Union are continuously on "Kaam Chhor Hartal" w.e.f. 28.11.2016 and have been staging continuous Dharna in the office premises of "S.E.,EM &RE Circle Jammu", against the PDD Administration in support of their genuine demands. The strike entered 206th day. Today Union staged protest demonstration/ Rally at Press Club Jammu in the shape of "Maha Aakrosh Rally").
As the Union members are continuously staging protest demonstration against the authorities in the said premises in support of their pending genuine demands, but no authority is paying any attention to the pathetic condition of these Daily Wagers for redressal of their grievances.
In the Rally, the agitating Daily Wagers took empty plates and utensils in their hands to remind the PDD authorities that we are suffering from starvation since last many years.
The Union further stated that the Daily Wagers especially of Jammu District are the most sufferers as they are facing the partiality as compared with the other districts.
Because of such partiality, the DWs of Jammu District especially have become much junior to their colleagues posted in other districts, as they have not been regularized at par with other districts.
DMIs in one voice stated that the department is not convening the DPC which is due for all cadres since last many more than ten years as a result of which the poor daily wagers are the most sufferers.
The Protest Demonstration was attended by its Vice-Chairman Gurnam Slathia, Chintamani Singh Sr. Vice President, General Secretary-Ashwani Kumar, Press Secretary Ajay Sharma (Press Secretary), Parveen Sharma, Gurdeep Singh, Ashwani Kumar (General Secretary) Kiran Paul, Sanjit Kumar, PMS President Akhnoor Unit), Davinder Singh (Distt. President-Samba) S. Ranjeet Singh (Distt. President, Jammu), Sharnsher Singh, Sansar Singh, Ajay Singh, Bajrang Singh, Pawan Singh Chib, Suresh Singh, Bachan Lal, Pardeep Jamwal, Kishore Sharma, Ranjeet Singh, Latif Hussain, Rakesh Kumar, Sonu Kumar, Bansi Lal, Rajinder Kumar, Karan Singh and others.
