IMS Celebrates International Yoga Day

Jammu, Jun 21: The Institute of Management Sciences (IMS), Gurha Brahmana (Patoli), Jammu celebrated "International Yoga Day" today the 21st June, 2017 in the campus. At the outset, Prof.S. K. Gupta, Director (IQAC) welcomed and thanked the Managing Director, Er. Renu Bangroo in the function. He also welcomed Prof. J.R. Dhotra, Director, IMS, Ravi Kant Gupta, Yoga expert all faculty and staff members in the programme. Prof. Gupta very briefly explained that Yoga has gained tremendous popularity in the last few years. It is the most rapidly growing health movement despite it was developed thousands of years ago. He further said Yoga is a way of living that aims towards healthy mind in a healthy body.
Man is a physical, mental and spiritual being, Yoga helps to promote a balanced development of all the three. Prof. J.R. Dhotra also stressed that other forms of physical exercises and aasans assure well being. With modern technology, nature of jobs involves sitting at a computer for long hours thereto creating a lot of problems for the employees and general public. Yoga is becoming very popular and helps to control a number of diseases like stress, diabetes, asthma, high blood pressure and back pain etc.
Mr. Ravi Kant, Yoga expert after explaining the role of yoga in our day to day life practically demonstrated a number of aasans, exercises and pranayam. He stressed that yoga results in all round fitness, weight loss, inner peace, improve immunity, increases energy and better flexibility etc.
Prof. J. R. Dhotra thanked the yoga expert for sparing his valuable time and be a part of the function.
