SSP Jammu reviews security arrangements for SANJY 2017

JAMMU, Jun 21: SSP Jammu, Dr. Sunil Gupta, IPS held a meeting in Conference Hall District Police Lines, Jammu in connection with security arrangements for Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2017.
Besides the representative from Army/CRPF/SSB/IB, Zonal and Sector officers deployed for SANJY/all Territorial SsP/SP Ops./SDPO City North/South/West/Dy. SP Hqrs. Jammu were present in the meeting. At the outset SSP Jammu review the security arrangements made for SANJY 2017.
SSP Jammu briefed the officers about the Police/Security arrangement planed/contemplated for SANJY. He exhorted the officers to remain extra vigilant and alert during Yatra.
He shared some important intelligence inputs related to Yatra with the officers present in the meeting and advised them to stay alert and take necessary precautionary measures to defeat the ill and evil designs of the anti-national & anti-social elements. He stressed the need to intensify nakka/ random surprised checking and organized short/long range patrolling in the far off and inaccessible areas especially Jammu Tawi areas and surrounding the base camp to secure the place. SSP Jammu directed the officers present in the meeting to keep a watch over the people (outsiders) putting up in temporarily Jhugis (Huts) in Bhagwati Nagar area around the Base Camp, conduct their verification for character & antecedents and called them at Police Stations for their identity/to issue identity card to them. He also stressed that approach of the Jammu Police need to be people friendly ensuring best possible security environment with least inconvenience.
