Mamta has a cameo in Goodalochana

The cast of Dhyan Sreenivasan-starrer Goodalochana just got a little more interesting. Mamta, who was last seen in Thoppil Joppan, will have a guest appearance in the film.
However, the actor says that the character is an important one, and brings about interesting changes to the story. "It is something similar to what I did in Varsham. I have a cameo in Manju Warrier's Udaha-ranam Sujatha as well, which is also an important character." So it is a conscious choice to pick cameos? "Well, it's not a preference, but at the moment I am in Los Angeles, and so it is hard for me to take up all the films that I'm getting. I've had to turn down quite a few."
At the same time, the cameos are helping her stay connected to the industry, she adds. "I'm in touch with work, which is important for me and I have always been someone who likes to stay busy. I miss being part of a film unit; it's a while since I did Thoppil Joppan."
Coming up next for the actress is Detroit Crossing, where she plays a Kathak dancer. "Everyone and everything in the film is looking for second chances, including Detroit city. My character is a dancer but dance is a means for her to escape and a passion, and it's not what adds to the story. She communicates unspoken stuff through dance." Mamta also has Carbon by Venu in the pipeline, which stars Fahadh in the lead.
