Narco terrorism is more dangerous form than terrorism: Team Jammu

R S Pura, June 25: Chairman of Team Jammu, Zorawar Singh Jamwal today said that after importing bloodshed in J&K through proxy-war, Pakistan is now spoiling younger generation of the State through Narco terrorism. He cautioned that Narco Terrorism is more dangerous than proxy-war.
Addressing a seminar organized by Team Jammu at R S Pura against drug menace, Zorawar Singh Jamwal said that during the last one decade Pakistan authorities were indulged into importing drugs in J&K in general and Jammu region to particular to spoil the new generation. "Targetting Jammu region through narco terrorism is a biggest gameplan of Pakistan", he said and pointed out that border areas like R S Pura, Bishnah, Arnia, Treva, Samba etc have been especially targeted by the Pakistan's ISI agency to accomplish their nefarious designs. He sought support of the residents of border belts to take this fight to the logical conclusion to the save the younger generation.
"It is fact that this belts have always played a dominant role in all historical agitations launched in Jammu region from time to time to restore dignity and honour of the people", Zorawar Singh Jamwal said.
Elaborating that drug abuse is not only a menace but part of the nefarious designs to spoil younger generation. "Every day we are getting shocking information about deaths of youth from different parts of Jammu region", he said and disclosed that helpless parents are approaching Team Jammu to save their wards from this menace.
He said that international mafia is operating in supplying drugs in Jammu. He dubbed drug mafia operation in Jammu as narco-terrorism and pointed out that after failing to spoiling younger generation through guns, now attempts are being made to indulge our generation in narco-terrorism.
He emphasised on the need of creating awareness among students and young generation to liberate Jammu from the yoke of drug abuse. He said that most parts of the Jammu are gripped with the menace of drug abuse and it is need of the hour to create awareness among people in this regard.
Speaking on the occasion, SSP Jammu, Dr Sunil Gupta assured that police is odiously working to eradicate this menace. He said that during the last two years FIR registered in drug cases have been doubled.
Seeking support of all sections of the society, SSP Jammu Dr Sunil Gupta said that they would take their war to the logical conclusion with the support of the people.
"The way people, especially the youth, are coming forward in our campaign has encouraged us", he said and reiterated commitment of the Team Jammu to liberate youth of Jammu region from the yoke of drugs.
He said that it was responsibility of youth to make Jammu free from drugs. He said that Jammu police has already started a comprehensive campaign against drug mafia and assured the gathering that those involved in supply drugs would be taken to the task by the police.
SP Headquarters, R C Kotwal, DySP R S Pura, Surinder Chowdhary, Ashwini Jojra, Dinesh Sharma, Akash Chopra, Naveen Bhaarti, Dr Vivak Arya, Uttam Singh Chib, Babu Ram, Jagdev Singh, Pandit Amarnath Sharma and Indu Bhushan Gupta were among others who spoke on the occasion and gave suggestions how society can be save from drug abuse.
