JKLSSF express over increasing begging in Jammu

Jammu, Aug 11: Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh Samaj Sudhar Forum, expressed grave concern over the poor respond of Government with regard to construction of Beggar homes in the State as the Orders dated 21.4.2015 by the Division Bench of J&K High Court.
Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh Samaj Sudhar Forum, well known for its campaign against Child begging, interacted with the people and invited their attention towards the fact that the only way to give an end to the Child begging is to generate interest of child beggars towards Education. The donation of few rupees cannot give a respectable life to the child beggars but the Education can give status and respectable life to the Child beggars.
During their campaign at Canal Road area Jammu today on 5th of August 2017 the Social Organization distributed the books Titled “Dua Karo Jawan Ko” among the people as a part of their campaign against Social evils. The prominent Social activists who participated in the campaign were Mr. K.A. Dewani, Mr. Jugal Kishore Gupta, Mr. C.L. Coul, Advocate Mr. Gagandeep Sharma, Mr. Sewa Ram Rathore, Mr. Anil Razdan, Anju Bhan, Mr. Dildar Singh, Mr. Subash Sharma, Mr. Tersim Lal and Mr. Raj Kumar.
Speaking to the participants Mr. K.A. Dewani State President of the Forum expressed grave concern that in spite of clear orders from Division Bench of J&K High Court, no attention is being given towards construction of beggar homes in the State. Mr. Dewani stated that 16 Kanals of State Land has been identified by the authorities State Government but further steps required in this regard have not been taken as yet.
He stated that from so many years the Forum, has invited the attention of Govt. towards creation of infrastructure for Education and Technical knowhow to the child beggars but unfortunately no attention is being given towards the same with the result child beggars are facing hardships.
The State President stated that some well known organizations are collecting huge money from the people in the name of orphans and poor and utilize the donation for construction of buildings and purchasing of vehicles but are not taking concrete steps for rehabilitation, Education and Technical knowhow to the child beggars, to give them a respectable life.
The State Chairman of the Forum, Mr. Jugal Kishore Gupta stated in his speech that under a well planned manner the services of children are utilized for begging. The Govt. may awake and take immediate action towards such culprits who put the life of innocent children in the hell. Mr. Jugal Gupta stressed over the authorities that such people who indulged the children in the begging should be jailed and punished under the Law. Advocate Mr. Gagandeep Sharma expressed that though the beggar Act is in place but the need of the hour is to make it more effective and powerful to save the children from begging.
