13/08/2017

New Delhi: Reliance Jio last month announced new tariff plans to replace its current dirt-cheap rates, offering lesser validity and data on a revamped Rs 309 plan and dishing out a bumper 84GB for Rs 399.
The new plans were announced as Jio's Dhan Dhana Dhan offer -- launched on April 11 -- reached the maximum allowed 90-day period on July 9.
The previous offer of 1 GB data per day for Rs 309 (valid for 84 days on first recharge) has now been replaced by an offer of 1GB data daily for only 56 days for the same amount of money.
Jio had over 112 million users at the end of April 2017.
After the expiry of first recharge offer period, customers would have got a validity of 28 days on the Rs 309 plan.
Now, with the revamped plan, they will get two months validity for Rs 309.
Similarly, 2 GB per day will now be offered for 56 days for Rs 509, instead of 84 days under the earlier offer.
The new plans is applicable for all new as well as existing subscribers, Jio said in a press statement.
Apart from data benefits, customers will continue to get unlimited free local, STD and national roaming voice calls as well as unlimited national SMS.
The Mukesh Ambani-owned firm has also unveiled new plans - the most lucrative one being 84GB offer for 84 days for Rs 399. A Rs 349 plan offers 20 GB of data with no daily cap and a validity of 56 days.
For Rs 999, 90 GB of data is being offered with 90 days of validity and no daily cap.
For post-paid customers, Jio launched a Rs 399 plan that offers about three months validity with 90 GB data.
Post the Reliance Jio new tariff offer, several telecom companies have come up with lucrative offers to beat the competition and woo customers.
Here is what the other telecom operators are offering.

Aircel's came up with a new plan immediately to counter Jio's new tariff plan. Under the scheme, customers are being offered unlimited calls and 1GB data/day for 84 days which sums up to a total of 84 GB data for that particular time period. However Aircel's FRC 348 is available in UP East only. Both local and STD calls are allowed to make on the network using the plan with 84 days validity.

However, this new Rs 244 mobile data plan of Vodafone is applicable exclusively just to the new customers. A user can make use of 1GB data in a day. In addition, a subscriber can avail unlimited calling facility for 70 days.
A new user under this plan gos for a second recharge will still enjoy unlimited calling and data facility but plan validity will get reduced to 35 days.

Facing constant heat from Reliance Jio's lucrative internet data offers, Airtel has launched a massive offer –Airtel broadband Big Bytes – for its broadband users.
The Bonus data is valid only for online purchase. Users can get between 500-1,000 GB of Bonus data on monthly rental plans starting at Rs 599 and ranging upto Rs 1,999.
Airtel in its website says that upon subscription to one of the select plans under the present Offer, and upon expiry of a period of 7 days following the date of activation of their new connection, a customer shall, subject to feasibility at the point of connection, be able to enjoy additional big byte GB , in addition to the base plan chosen by them, which may be enjoyed at the same speed as per chosen base plan (‘Free Subscription Internet’).
Big Byte GB will be consumed only after base plan quota consumption by customer.
Un-used Big Bytes data will be carried over each month till 31st March 2018 or the GBs getting over whichever is first.
For example, if 500 GB Big Bytes is provisioned to customer with base plan quota of 60 GB, then after the 60 GBs of the plan are over, big byte GB consumption starts.
