Jammu Painter shows talent in Sweden

JAMMU, Aug 12: Jammu based painter Jang S. Verman has been invited to display his Painting Art in the International Art Exhibition and workshop in Stockholm, Sweden. Both exhibition and workshop are part of Stockholm Culture Festival, an annual feature there. The Culture Festival is organized and sponsored by The City of Stockholm, Kulturfyren, Bilda, Artistgroup 10 Women. The festival is organized every year with different themes. For the first time its theme is 'Sharing Sweden- India'.
Paintings of four artists from India viz. Jang S. Verman (Jammu, J&K), (Late) Naveen Dhiman (Sunder Nagar, HP), Prabhinder Lall (Chandigarh) and Sankari Mitra (Kolkatta, WB) have been invited to be included in this festival. The exhibition is opened at The Gallery Kulturfyren. se located in Skeppsholmen, near the Modern Museum, Stockholm. The workshop will be conducted in Stockholm Culture Festival area.
The contributor Sweden artists whose art works have been included in the festival are Anita Algret, Gunilla Lofgren, Naemi Bure, Elisabeth Lindell Noren, Eri- Maria van der Spank, Ann Nyberg, Lena Morge, Meth Fagerqvist, Asa Bujon and Orsi Mild. Swedish Curatos for these programmes are Anita Elgerot, Gunilla Löfgren and Naemi Bure, the artist members of “Artistgroup 10 Women”
Jang S. Verman is a noted painter and columnist on art & culture of Jammu who has participated in International, National and regional Art Exhibitions in India. He is recipient of National level Awards a number of tines. His works are in the collections of Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi, Govt. Museum & Art gallery, Chandigarh, J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Literature, Jammu, Srinagar and Kargil, Bharat Bhavan, Bhopal among others. Presently he is working on his innovative technique termed as 'NoPaint Images'. The works to be displayed in Sweden are executed in this technique.
