Capacity Building Tour flagged in by Army

JAMMU, Aug 12: A Capacity Building Tour (CBT) to Ludhiana and Chandigarh for 20 teenage boys and girls of remote and far flung areas of Rajouri District conducted by Army culminated, today at Youth Center, Palma.
The tour was conducted from 02 August to 12 August 2017 with an aim to expose the participants to the industrial development taking place outside the State of J&K. For most of the youth, this was the first visit outside the State of Jammu and Kashmir and thus a unique experience, which enhanced their awareness about the technical expertise available outside the State of Jammu and Kashmir.
During the tour, the participants visited various industrial units like Hero Cycle Factory, Monte Carlo Garment Factory and Verka Milk Plant.
On the social and cultural side, they visited places of tourist interest like Rock Garden, Sukhna Lake, Chhatbir Zoo and Bahu Fort. They also interacted with eminent military and civil dignitaries to include Lieutenant General Surinder Singh, Army Commander, Western Command, VP Singh Badnore, Governor of Punjab and Padma Shri Milka Singh during their visit to Chandigarh.
The tour culminated with a flagging in ceremony being conducted at Youth Centre, Palma. During the ceremony General Officer Commanding, Romeo Force interacted with the young participants and shared their experiences gained over the course of tour. He congratulated them for having attended the tour and experiencing the development taking place in other parts of the country.
