JKSACS organizes sensitization programme on HIV/AIDS awareness

JAMMU, Aug 12: J&K State AIDS Control Society (JKSACS) in collaboration with '1st J&K Armd Squadron NCC Jammu' organized a sensitization programme on HIV/AIDS awareness for NCC cadets from different districts of Jammu province on August 11th 2017 at NCC ground Nagrota Jammu. More than 600 cadets actively participated in the awareness programme.
Seeing the positive response to the earlier awareness campaign on the instructions of Project Director, Dr. Mushtaq Ahmed Rather, this time more NCC cadets participated with enthusiasm.
The programme started with AIDS awareness lecture by Deputy Director (IEC), Mrs. Deepika B Thakur. She emphasized the role of youth in AIDS awareness and explained in detail about HIV/AIDS and the facilities being provided by JKSACS for the welfare of HIV/AIDS affected. Special information was given about the basics of HIV/AIDS and facilities at ICTC and ART centres. After the extensive lecture an interactive session was held wherein Mr. Risheesh Khajuria Assistant Director (Publicity) answered the various queries of the cadets and cleared their doubts. IEC material was also distributed among the cadets on this occasion. The cadets were informed to carry forward the message of JKSACS to disseminate the information in their respective areas especially at grass root level.
The lively programme was appreciated by the team of ‘1st J&K Armd Squadron NCC Jammu’ specially the Officer Commanding, Col. Raj Mohan Singh under whose command the whole camp activity was being carried out.
