SSKM celebrates 71st Independence Day

JAMMU, Aug 12: In the memory of Late Dr. J.R. Sharma (founder) of Saraswati Sangeet Kala Mandir (Regd.) Estd in 1949 as the oldest institution in J&K now running on the guideline of Shri Ravi Sharma (an approved Santoor Player and Music Composer) celebrated 71st Independence Day at Abhinav Theatre, Jammu on 12th August 2017. Balwant Thakur, Regional Director ICCR, J&K was the Chief Guest. Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary, J&K Academy of Art Culture and Languages was the guest of Honour. The programme started with the tune of Vande Matram presented by Rohit Sharma on Santoor, Sohan Raghuvanshi on Sexophone, Anish Matoo on Keytar, Karan Mahlotra on Tabla, Anil Sumbria on Keyboard and Ashish on Cajon.
Patriotic songs presented by students of Saraswati Sangeet Kalamandir. Ekta, Anjali Sharma, Muskaan Bhagat, Heena Sharma, Sunandini Jamwal, Heena Sheik, Disha Bhagat, Aleen, Manreet Kaur, Veer Singh Slathia, Novil, Sahil Singh, Harshit Sharma, Kamaldeep Singh, Mipham Jigmet, Atul Bajpuri, “Sapno se pyaare Desh hamare" lyrics by Prem Dhavan, "Jag se pyaara Desh hamara” lyrics by Madhukar Rajasthani, "Umaad gumaad kar badra and pairo me sagar si payal" lyrics by Vijay Atri, " Azaad hai" lyric by Abid Munavri, "Is dharti se pyaar hai" lyrics by Vishaw Dev Sharma, "Jai janani jai Bharti" lyrics by Taara Chand B Shah Nimadi "Diki le Dogra desh" lyrics by Kishan Smailpuri, all the songs were composed by Ravi Sharma.
Speaking on this occasion Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn said that it's the need of the hour that the talent of youth is used in creative way. Balwant Thakur appreciated the efforts of SSKM to bring to the forth the spirit of patriotism among the youth.
