Ganga reviews status of PHE schemes

VIJAYPUR, Aug 13: Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chander Parkash Ganga today reviewed the status of various water supply schemes of Vijaypur here at a meeting of senior officers of PHE department. The Minister sought full details regarding schemes sanctioned under District Plan, Centrally sponsored schemes and Border Area Development Programme.
He asked officials to furnish details of worn out machinery and mechanism for their timely repair and care. He asked the department to inform him of any bottlenecks in project work and stressed on timely implementation of schemes. He directed them to undertake regular field visits along with their subordinate staff and submit weekly reports regarding progress achieved on the ground. He said that augmentation of water supply must be the primary aim of the department as being kandi area, water is a scarce resource here.
He also directed officials to keep regular contact with local community members and involve them in framing new water supply schemes. AEEs, JEs and other staff members were present in the meeting.
