Painting, Poster competition of Drug Abuse Awareness Organized

Jammu, Aug 13: Jammu Police organized a painting/poster competition for students today in District Police Lines, in which more than 120 students participated from different 60 Schools of Jammu District i.e. Shiksha Niketan School Jeevan Nagar, Govt. Boys Higher Sec. School Gandhi Nagar, JK Public School Kunjwani, Model Academy, Caramel Convent High School, Tiny Tots School Sainik Colony, Doon International School, K.V. Public School Sunjwan, G.D Goenka, Heritage School, Govt. Hr. Sec. School Bahu Fort, Govt. High School Qasim Nagar, K.V. No. 2 Bantalab, Govt. Girls Hr. Sec. School Bakshi Nagar, JK Police Public School Miran Sahib, Govt. Girls Hr. Sec. School R.S. Pura, Govt. Hr. Sec. School Arnia, Govt. Boys Hr. Sec. School Akhnoor, Army Public School Nagrota, St. Peter School BC Road etc. Students were asked to make posters for Anti-Drug Awareness on spot.
Famous Artists of the state K.K Gandhi, Suresh Sharma and Rohit Verma were the Judges for this event.
Dr. Sunil Gupta IPS, SSP Jammu was the chief guest and Sugandha Mahajan, Asst. Professor was the guest of honour. Besides, other guests, R C Kotwal, SP Hqrs. Jammu, Rajesh Gill, Chief Prosecuting Officer, NHRC, Jammu, Gourav Mahajan, Dy.SP, DAR DPL Jammu, Miss Priyanka Kumari, Dy.SP and Akhil Mahajan who recently qualified IPS via civil service exam 2017 were also present on the occasion.
During the competition students worked with great dedication and enthusiasm to show their artistic talent and ability. At the end of competition following students were declared best painters by the Judges. The winners were awarded with trophies and certificates. Participation certificates were also given to each participant.
Senior Category: Nishtha Aggarwal Class 12th from Model Academy, Tisha Arora Class 9th B from Model Academy, Suneha Manhas Class 12th from Tiny Tots Hr. Sec. School Sainik Colony Jammu.
Junior Category: Divyansh Gupta Class 8th B from G.D Goenka, AnchalBehera Class 8th from Army Public School Nagrota, DivyaVerma Class 8th C from K.V Sunjwan.
Tea and lunch were served to all participants. On this occasion District Police Jammu Orchestra present colorful patriotic songs and few school children participants also sang patriotic songs.
The event was well organized to inculcate the feeling and celebration of Independence Day among the students and to fill the gap between youngsters and Police. District Police Chief in his address appeal the youngsters to follow the path of patriotism and lead the country to became the best country in the world.
All the participants present on the occasion including parents of the students and staff appreciated the Jammu Police for organizing this function on such significant occasion and appeal to organize more like funs. Besides, the students were also made aware of drug abuse and it's harmful effects in the life.
They were advised to keep themselves away from such abuse to make their career bright. SSP Jammu appealed the students to shake hand with Police to eradicate this evil from the society by informing nearby Police if they find any person indulged in drug smuggling or addiction.
