State NCP celebrates 71st Independence Day

Jammu, Aug 16: Former Minister Thakur Randhir Singh, President Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) greeted the people of the Jammu and Kashmir on behalf of state unit of NCP on the occasion of the 71st Independence day. Thakur Randhir Singh hoisted the National flag near Jewel Chowk and while addressing the gathering and mediamen he said that the Independence was achieved by sacrificing so many valuable lives by all the communities Hindu, Muslim, Sikh and Budhists,Christians and many many unknown freedom fighters who went to the jails under the leadership of Mahatama Gandhi, The Father of the Nation.
Thakur said it was very difficult to get Independence from the Britishers but it is also too difficult task to preserve the hard earned Independence which has been achieved, it requires more sacrifices to be made by the people of India to preserve it.Mr Singh blaming the Pakistan for supporting the terrorist activities neighbour has stepped up ceasefire violation and infiltration as much large number of terrorists into Kashmir. Mr Singh paid rich tributes to the Army, paramilitary forces and J&K police who continued to sacrificing their lives for the integrity of nation. Mr Singh appreciated the decision taken by the Prime minister like demonetization, GST and other steps to nail the separatists for amassing illegal wealth and though late also appreciated the statement of Governor N N Vohra who has warned the political parties in Jammu and Kashmir whom he described that they have failed to muster courage for venturing out of their, "secure habitats to meet their voters".
Thakur said the most of the present politicians in Jammu and Kashmir have been provided unnecessary police protection which should be withdrawn immediately and have made politics a business which was a social service and present Ministers, MP’s and MLA's are only worried to raise their salaries and have forgotten the valiant soldiers of our country who are defending our most difficult borders like Siachen Glacier in Ladakh where more than thousand Army jawans have gave their life while fighting with weather conditions at the highest battle field in the world where temperature goes upto 60 degree.
Mr Singh reminded the audience that he has opened the highest motorable road Khardungla at 17800 feet as Minister of Ladakh affairs in early 70's which became base for Sichen glacier.
