19/08/2017

LUCKNOW, Aug 18: Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh today asserted that by 2022, a solution would be found to the Kashmir problem as also other problems like terrorism, naxalism and North East insurgency.
"There are a lot of problems -- terrorism, naxalism, Kashmir problem. Much is not needed to be said about these problems. But I can assure you this much that by 2022, we have pledged to create a 'new India'...So a solution will be found to all these problems before 2022. We want to assure the countrymen on this," he said.
Singh was addressing a programme here titled 'Sankalp se Siddhi - New India Movement (2017-2022) Naye Bharat kaa nirmaan'.
On the occasion, he administered oath to the gathering for making India 'Swachh' (clean), poverty-free, corruption- free, terror-free, communalism-free and casteism-free.
"If people could take (Quit India) pledge in 1942 and get freedom in 1947, then why is it so that after 70 years of Independence, India is not that self-reliant which it should had been?
"I would congratulate Prime Minister Narendra Modi for taking a pledge to create a 'new India' before the country celebrates its 75th year of freedom," he said.
He said Mahatma Gandhi understood the importance of cleanliness and had made it a campaign but it is Modi who gave it the shape of a mass movement.
"For 85 long years after the first war of Independence in 1857, India understood the country's power and kept on gathering it.
"In 1942, the entire nation stood united when Mahatma Gandhi said 'British should Quit India' and gave the clarion call of 'do or die'. ... It was the result of this pledge which bore fruits five years later," Singh said.
He said if in five years after launch of Quit India movement, India could achieve Independence, "then why can't we make a 'new India' after taking pledge in 2017 and realising it in 2022?"
He said Pandavs also had achieved victory in Mahabharata because of their pledge and resoluteness.
"This (new India) will be an India where there will be no poverty or illiteracy, every person will have a house, no one will die of shortage of medicine. On the global stage, India will emerge as a powerful nation.
Talking about corruption, the home minister said, "In the first meeting of the Union Cabinet, we took a pledge to fight corruption. Our pledge was to change power and system."
Referring to GST which was rolled out on July 1, he said, "Many of our friends are having problems but after a few months, all will praise GST. We passed GST with the pledge of 'one-nation, one-tax."
Singh said BJP does not indulge in politics of government formation "but for nation building and development."
Rajnath Singh also said under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India will emerge not only as economic power but also as spiritual power, free from poverty, deprivation and there will be no discrimination based on caste, creed and religion.Addressing a seminar on `Sankalp se Sidhi tak' organised by the BJP's city unit here, he said the Prime Minister has taken up the gauntlet to make India as one of the leading economic power. "India will not be an economic power alone. It will be a spiritual power which will take the world from the darkness of indecisiveness to the light of knowledge and prosperity," he said.He said ''the Prime Minister has taken a `sankalp' (pledge) to make India strong and we need to take that dream to reality. The manifestation of that dream will see the end of terrorism and extremism activities. That will be the sidhi (realization) of that pledge.''"India is standing at the cusp of change. It is the commitment of Prime Minister Modi to transform the country by 2022. Now, the nation is plagued with various problems which ranges from Kashmir conflict to poverty where one is working hard to get a square meal a day. Things will change and by 2022, there will be no Kashmir issue and India will be once again become the proverbial 'sone ki chidiya','' Mr Singh said as the audience clapped in approval. He said some people talk India as `Bimaru' country because of various problems. ''This NDA Government has initiated steps to shed this tag. Government is able to cap corruption through various steps like demonetisation and implementation of the GST. Farmers are getting good remuneration of their produce. The youth is getting training under Skill Development projects and doors are thrown open for entrepreneurship by providing these skilled people money through Mudra Banking,'' he said. The Union Home Minister said borders are safe under the Modi government. ''There is peace and tranquility in the country which is reflection of NDA Government's success."No one talks about corruption in this government. The last government was rocked by one scam after another. The Modi government has completed three and half years in office but no one can raise a finger at us," he said
Earlier in the day, Mr Singh had a meeting with senior ministers and legislators where he told them to spread the message of good work being done by the Centre and the Yogi government. ''Do not lose touch with the people. They are the mainstay. If you are in touch with them, you are bound to get right feedback,'' he said.Among the ministers Dr Dinesh Sharma, Ashutosh Tandon, Brijesh Pathak, Dr Mahendra Singh, Swati Singh and Mohsin Raza and MLAs Dr Neeraj Bora, Suresh Srivastata and Avinash trivedi attended the meeting.
