Poonch admin team visits forward areas, meets shelling affected families

POONCH, Oct 15: A district administration team led by Deputy Commiss ioner Poonch, Tariq Ahmad Zargar, today
visited shelling affected areas to take the stock of damages to property and assess the situation
prevailing on the forward LoC areas of sub division Mendhar.
The team of officers including SSP Rajiv Panday, SDM Mendhar, Rahul Yadav, and others, visited shelling village Sandhote met with Mohammad Nasib the father of three children injured in LoC shelling. The DC handed over Rupees ten thousand as interim relief and promised for extending every possible support to the family in this hour of grief.
Meanwhile, deputy commissioner directed the revenue officers to immediately process the case of victims for further relief.
It is pertinent to mention here that three children of Mohammad Nasib were injured last night, one of them seriously, when mortar shells exploded near his house. Seriously injured Tahira Nasib age 15 years was shifted to Jammu for advance treatment, while other two Tariq Nasib age 14 years and Rafia Nasib age 10 years with minor injuries were discharged after first-aid.
Later, the team of officers also visited to other shelling affected areas Drana, Basooni, Balakote to get appraisal from the local regarding damages to properties & livestock due to heavy cross border shelling during the intervening night.
Zargar, asked the officers to keep close eye on the situation and maintain close liaison with locals for tackling the situation in case of any eventuality.
