Kavinder for providing better road connectivity in rural areas

JAMMU, Oct 18: Emphasizing on better road connectivity in rural areas, Speaker Jammu & Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta today said that Government is making concerted efforts towards meeting this objective.
“Government has laid full focus on development of infrastructure and provide better civic amenities to the people in rural areas with special focus on improving road connectivity" he said after launching macada mization work of 500 mtr road here at Khwas Khan Village. The work is estimated to cost Rs 5.33 lakh.
The Speaker said that upgrading of the Khwas road was a long pending demand adding that more macadamization work will be taken up to provide better road connectivity to the area. He said that construction of roads is being taken up with a broader perspective of improving rural economy. Kavinder instructed the officials to construct proper drainage system alongside the road to prevent the problem of water logging. Asking people to become partner in the development process, he said that the present Government is committed for equitable development of all sections of the society and it has launched various flagship programmes in this regard.
Government is making all out efforts for rural development by improving power supply, health, irrigation, roads, drinking water, housing and employment, he added.
The Speaker also stressed on effective monitoring of the rural development schemes launched by the Centre as well as the State Government to improve quality of life of the people. He said rural development holds a key for the growth of State's economy and stressed on infrastructural growth for the overall development of these areas.
On being apprised of the problems and developmental needs of the area, the Speaker assured locals that all their genuine concerns will be looked into on priority. He directed the concerned officials to take adequate measures to mitigate the problems of the people in a time bound manner.
For augmentation of power supply, Kavinder directed the concerned officials for installation of 100 KVA transformers in the village at the earliest.
