Seminar on applied Linguistics inaugurated at SMVDU

Katra, Dec 6: A Two-Day National Seminar was inaugurated at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University on Applied Linguistics & Literary Studies on 6th December 2017. Eighty participants from 13 universities and 7 States would present their papers and posters during the Seminar.
Disting uished English Language Teaching (ELT) Expert and President Award Winner for Teaching Methods Prof. Anima Chakraverty graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
Dr. Rajnish Mishra, Professor JNU, New Delhi, was the Keynote Speaker. Prof. Mishra enlightened the audience with an interacting session on an interface between Linguistics and Literary Studies.
Dr. Varun K. Tripathi, Dean Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences laid emphasis on capturing the ideas in an anthology or book form.
Dr. Amitabh V. Dwivedi, Head of the School, welcomed the guests and participants and assured that best papers and posters in each session would be awarded, and selected 20 best papers would be published in the book form by a reputed International Publication House. A Vote of thanks was presented by the Convener and Organising Secretaries: Dr. Anurag Kumar, Dr. Ranbir Kaur and Ms. Simran Preet Kaur respectively.
