Delay in release of funds
12/12/2017
Taking serious exception to delaying of work on various Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS) in the State for which the funding has already been made by the Union Government, BJP Core Group which met here today to take the stock of the functioning of the coalition Government and party affairs stressed the Government to release the funds and also prepare the Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) of various Central schemes meant for the welfare of the people and development of the border State. The Core Group expressed dismay over slow pace of work on various Central sponsored projects which have either been delayed due to the slow process in framing of DPRs or release of funds and the Committee stressed on expediting the work on these projects and their completion in a time bound manner. Work on various projects was going on snail's pace and some projects which were near completion were held up for release of funds despite the fact that large amount of money had come from Centre for the same. It was stressed that the State Government should expedite the process in this regard.
The Core Committee also favoured the rotational change in reservation of constituencies by next Assembly elections to be held in 2020 which have not been done for the last 24 years now. It also discussed the holding of Panchayat and Local Body elections in the State which were overdue now. Central Government has also been pressing for holding of Panchyat and Local bodies elections in the State and Governor, N NVohra stressed on holding of these elections without further delay. Therefore, the process for the elections should be expedited. However, Core Group was of the view that due to Winter, the holding of elections in Ladakh, region, Kashmir Valley and hilly reaches of Jammu region was not possible and they can be held after March only. Stressing on further strengthening the base of the party in the State, the Core Group decided to hold booth workers meetings at Mandal level to prepare the workers for the forthcoming Panchyat and Local bodies elections as well as Parliamentary elections of 2019.
