JU accords farewell to Prof Nirmal Singh from History Deptt

Jammu, Dec 11: Department of History, University of Jammu accorded a warm farewell to Professor Nirmal K. Singh, the Deputy Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, on the occasion of his superannuation from the department.
Peaking on the occasion, Professor Jigar Muhammed stated that Prof. Singh was an excellent teacher and followed his all the responsibilities with full commitment. He also spoke about how under his leadership the department was able to reach the height of academic excellence and was quite generous in giving respect, love and care to all his colleagues in the department. He was very much liked by the students because of his nice behavior, disciplined nature and way of dealing with them. Prof. Jigar also recalled several useful moments which he spent with him and also expressed his sincere gratitude for giving him nice friendship, kindness and all the support for many years.
Dr. Singh thanked the department and began by stating that he is touched by all the well-wishes and nice words offered by his colleagues on the occasions, he said that he looks back with a sense of gratitude. He said that he chose the profession because it was dedicated to assisting young people achieve their potential, to revealing or finding their best selves. He went on to say that he is happy and leaving the department with a sense of satisfaction as he was able to work with best of his ability as a teacher. He added that while going away he would be taking many of nice moments and thoughts which shall always live on in his memories. Lastly, he thanked his colleagues and students for being his traveling companions along a large and important part of his life in the department. He said that he shall reamin grateful for stimulating company and the enormous collection of shared experiences indelibly printed on his mind.
