AE, JE suspended

REASI, Jan 18: Additional District Development Commissioner Ramesh Chander today ordered suspension of one Assistant Engineer and one Junior Engineer of Mechanical sub-division Reasi besides seeking explanation from other absent employees.
The action was taken on the report of ACR Harbans Lal who along with Naib Tehsildar Reasi were deputed by ADDC to check the punctuality of employees in their offices. A total of 10 offices were inspected by ACR in which five employees were found unauthorisedly absent.
The absentees include one employee of Soil Testing Laboratory, one each from SADO and AEO and no employee was found in the office of Mechanical sub-division Reasi. However, unmaintained movement registers of both AE and JE were seized by inspection team from their office.
Further, the salary of all absent employees has been stopped and Programme Officer ICDS has been appointed as enquiry officer who will submit his report within week's time.
It is pertinent to mentioned here that some officials have also kept unsanctioned leave applications in the attendance registers just to escape from the office and assigned duty in defensive way.
Arrangements for celebration of 8th National Voter's Day discussed
Udhampur, January 18: In order to discuss the arrangements for celebration of 8th National Voter's Day to be observed on 25th January 2018, with the theme of "No Voter to be left behind", a meeting was convened by Deputy District Election Officer, Sapna Kotwal with all the EROs and AEROs of the district ,here today.
Detailed discussions were held on making arrangements for road march of students at Tehsil head quarters. It was impressed upon ERO - 60 Udhampur 61- Chenani-62 -Ramnagar to ensure the participation of electors at main function to be organized at District head quarter for distribution of the EPICs.
It was informed in the meeting that banners will be hoisted at prominent places to display the Commission's messages.
Deputy District Election Officer informed that Awareness rallies will be organised at both the tehsil and district level for encouraging future voters and creating awareness about the importance of vote among them, besides she said that necessary training shall also be imparted to the Booth Level Officers (BLOs) by the EROs and AEROs.
The meeting was attended by EROs and AEROs of the district besides principals of various colleges.
