Zulfkar discusses modalities for vocational training of tribal youth in health sector

JAMMU, Jan 18: Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) and Tribal Affairs, Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali today convened a meeting of officers of Tribal Affairs to discuss modalities for starting vocational training of tribal youth in Health sector.
The meeting was attended by Commissioner Secretary, Tribal Affairs, Shafiq Ahmed Raina, Director Tribal Affairs, Mohammad Rafi, Secretary Gujjar & Bakerwal Board Mukhtar Choudhary, other senior officers of the concerned Department.
The meeting was informed that 1100 Schedule Tribe (ST) students, 50 each from every district of the State have been selected for para-medical courses so that they can get job in Health & Medical Institutions.
The Minister elaborated that the students selected for the training have been recommended by the Committee framed in this regard. The Committee will also constitute an expert team comprising of Principal AMT, Deputy Director (Plg) of Tribal Affairs Department for selection of institutions for the purpose where the students will get training in different fields of health sector.
In the meeting, it was also informed that funds have been allocated for the training purpose and the classes will be started from March Ist.
