Complete development works in time to save money: HP CM

Shimla, Feb 13: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur today emphasised on completion of developmental works within stipulated time-frame and said fruits of development must reach the targeted groups.
At a meeting with MLAs from Kangra, Chamba, Lahaul and Spiti, Kinnaur, Una and Hamirpur districts to elicit their priorities for development schemes to be incorporated in the 2018-19 state budget, he said regular monitoring of schemes was required to be done in implementation stage. Thakur said work should not be given to such contractors who compromise on quality and delay projects, and stressed that funds allocated in the budget should be completely utilised before the end of the financial year.
"Connectivity needs to be improved for promoting tourism and we must find out ways to go ahead with implementation of projects with adequate budgetary provisions," the chief minister said.
"We have adopted 'Drishti Patra' (Vision Document) of the BJP as an official document and we need to work on the targets and policy framework to achieve overall development well in time," Thakur said.
