Motivate unemployed youth to set own earning units: Balbir

JAMMU, Feb 13: Stressing upon the BJP Minority Morcha leaders from Kashmir to devote time in reaching the unemployed youth of their respective areas along with their day to day political and social activities and educate them about the welfare schemes of Jammu and Kashmir Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes & Backward Classes Develop ment Corporation meant for socio-economic upliftment of the weaker sections, its Vice Chairperson, Balbir Ram Rattan, said that sitting idle at home and becoming burden on parents is not justified.
Balbir Ram Rattan was sharing the welfare schemes of the Corporation with BJP Minority Morcha leaders including State General Secretary Sheikh Bashir, State Secretary Muneera Tantray and Srinagar District President of the Morcha Salinder Singh, at Jammu. Balbir told them that the Corporation provides financial assistance in the form of loan to the unemployed people of reserved categories, the Scheduled Castes, Sched uled Tribes, Backward Classes, Minorities Notified at the National Level, Physically Disabled Persons and Safai Karamchari. For each of these categories, the funds are provided by Apex Corporation at the centre and the state government too has its share. Balbir further informed them there is wide scope for working for the minorities in Kashmir as maximum population there comes under Minority category besides housing STs and other communities.
The Vice Chairperson also mentioned that the number of unemployed people in the state goes up with each passing year and it is not possible for the government to provide job to everyone. Hence the governments at centre and in state for having concerned for the welfare of these unemployed youth, provides financial assistance to set up own income generating units and earn livelihood.
