Daughter of Martyr SI inaugurates Range Level Sports Festival

JAMMU, Feb 15: Taking forward the community policing initiative of Jammu and Kashmir Police, Range Police Udhampur-Reasi organised Range Level Sports Festival Udhampur 2017-18 under Civic Action Programme which was today declared open by Miss Alishba Tak daughter of Martyr SI Imran Tak at DPL Udhampur in presence of Sh. Rayees Mohd. Bhat IPS, SSP Udhampur, Addl. SP Faisel Qureshi, DySP HQ Kameshwar Puri, Ramesh Panotra, DySP ADO RPHQ Udhampur Reasi Range and other officers/officials.
Speaking on the occasion the SSP remembered the supreme sacrifice made of Martyr SI Imran Tak in the service of nation.
He also laid stress on the importance of sports activities in the life of a person especially youth. Sports activities keeps the youth physically and mentally fit to achieve desirous progressive goals. Besides it also keep them away from evils like drugs addictions, terrorism, separatism etc.
SSP informed that the Range level Sports festival Udhampur 2017-18 is being organised from 15th February 2018 to 16th February 2018 at District Police Lines Udhampur / Reasi respectively for multiple events wherein 09 events for boys and girls would be played in which about 125 participants would participate.
About 23 officials of department of Youth Service and Sports will remain engaged in officiating these matches along with cooperation from the Education Department. A T-20 Cricket Match was organised on the occasion of inaugural function between Braham Rishi Bawra Shanti Peeth and Higher Seco-ndary School Ramnagar which was won by Higher Secondary School Ramnagar by 05 wickets.
