Dr. Ambedkar Convent School celebrates Grandparents Day

Jammu, Feb 16: In an impressive function held in the premises of Dr. Ambedkar Convent School, Bantalab, the school management celebrated Grandparents day with great pomp and show. On this occasion, grandparents of students participated with zeal and enthusiasm. The main motto of this event was to express the love and care for grandparents.
The Chief Guest of this function was Balbir Ram Rattan, Vice Chairperson of Jammu and Kashmir SC, ST, BC Development Corporation and Gian Chand Dogra, the Managing Director of Dr. Ambedkar Group of Schools, presided over the show.
Balbir Ram Rattan, in his speech, congratulated the management for this unique concept of respecting elders.
He also highlighted the importance of elders in family adding that such events help children become aware of the strength, information, and guidance older people can offer to them.
Gian Chand Dogra, Managing Director, in his address, said that the grandparents in a family are asset and treasure of experiences and each one of us should learn from them so that what ever mission is taken into hand, gets fulfilled successfully.
He also appreciated the students and grandparents to enrich children with cultural values and respect for elders.
A greeting card competition was also held and Jaanvi of Class 8th, was awarded the first prize, Shallu of Class 6th secured 2nd prize, while Afzana and Sneha shared the 3rd prize.
