Kaumudi new Addl DG CRPF J&K

JAMMU, Feb 21: V.S.K. Kaumudi, IPS took over as new Addl. DG CRPF J&K Zone vice S.N Shrivastava here at Group Centre CRPF Bantalab, Jammu. A dynamic and energetic Indian Police Service officer born on 3/11/1962, Varun Sindhu Kul Kaumudi joined the Indian Police Service on 25/08/1986.
He served as SP in the State and then as SP in the Central Bureau of investigation, and also as Additional Director General (ADG) in Railways and in the reputed National Investigation Agency (NIA).
The officer was also posted as Addl DG in the Bureau of Police Research & Devel opment, which is the think tank for the Indian Police. He has always been considered
a dynamic officer.
While serving with the Central Bureau of Investigation on deputation, the senior officer cracked the famous fodder scam case. While serving as Inspector General in the Economic Offences Wing of Crime Investigation Depart ment in AP, he investigated the Satyam Computers scandal. He also served as CP, Vishakapatnam.
The officer won the prestigious Prime Minister’s Baton and the Union Home Ministry Revolver for being adjudged the best all round IPS probationer of his batch. ShriKaumudi is considered as a very dynamic officer among his peer group. While taking over his new assignment, Kaumudi said that he is looking forward for productive stint here.
Before that the incumbent SN Shrivastava was accorded a warm farewell by the officers and staff of CRPF at Group Centre Bantalab Jammu. Shrivastava highly appreciated the role being played by CRPF in the State. He stated that the law and order situation in J&K is very peculiar and challenging and expressed his happiness that CRPF officers and men are tackling with it effectively.
He was also high on praise to the level of synergy and coordination developed by the the Force with local police and other security agencies.
