Copra firms up on sustained demand

Mumbai: Copra office Alappuzha, copra office Kozhikode, copra rajapur Mumbai and copra edible Mumbai firmed up at the spices market here today following sustained demand from stockists and retailers amidst good export offtake.
Meanwhile, Black pepper eased by Rs 10/10 per kg to Rs 380/440 from last Saturday's close at Rs 390/450 and ginger unbleached softened by Rs 3 per kg to Rs 118 as against Rs 121 owing to lower demand from stockists and retailers.
Copra office Alappuzha rose by Rs 600 per quintal to Rs 13,000 from Rs 12,400, copra office Kozhikode gained by Rs 500 per quintal to Rs 12,700 from Rs 12,200, Copra rajapur Mumbai climbed by Rs 850 per quintal to Rs 16,850 as against Rs 16,000, respectively.
Elsewhere, copra edible Mumbai also gained Rs 200 per quintal to Rs 15,300 as compared to last Saturday's close at Rs 15,100.
Following are today's closing rates (in Rs with previous rates in brackets): Black pepper (per kg) 380/440 (390/450), ginger unbleached (per kg) 118 (121), copra office Alappuzha (per quintal) 13,000 (12,400), copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 12,700 (12,200), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) 16,850 (16,000), copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) 15,300 (15,100).
