Jammu, Apr 15: Accusing the BJP of facilitating the promotion of separatist agenda in the state in total disregard for the sentiments of people of Jammu region, the activists of JKNPP led by Mr. Harsh Dev Singh JKNPP Chairman and former Minister held a massive protest at Exhibition Ground Jammu seeking the resignation of all BJP Ministers. The agitated protestors torched the effigy of BJP amidst the slogans of “Gaddar BJP Hai Hai” and “BJP Minsters kursi shodo, kursi shodo.
“The BJP has played the biggest fraud upon people of Jammu region. It has ditched us all. It promised moon to the people of Jammu. But divested us of all that we had including our self pride and honour. Do they have the right to represent the Dogras who always valued their self esteem and honour as their most precious treasure?” a visibly agitated Harsh argued.
Terming the yesterday’s BJP meet held under the Chairmanship of Ram Madhav, its National General Secretary as a cover up operation to hide the party’s yet another surrender to Mehbooba’s dictates, Mr. Harsh Dev said that it was an open secret now that the two Minsters were made sacrificial lambs by BJP in-order to save its unholy opportunist alliance with PDP. Accusing BJP of changing colours like chameleon, he said that he was in possession of video-graphed as well print media reports of statements of several BJP leaders and Ministers who were earlier seeking CBI probe in Rasana rape and murder case but disowned their statements immediately after Mehbooba’s snub. Not only in Rasana case but the BJP had surrendered each of its fundamentals and discarded its core philosophy merely for crumbs of power, said Harsh.
As for the sacking of two Ministers Ch. Lal Singh and C.P Ganga, Mr. Singh said that people would have welcomed them had they resigned immediately after their assurance of CBI probe in March 1 rally was rejected by Mehbooba. But the said Ministers went into hibernation after Mehboob’s ‘no’ to CBI probe and disappeared from the scene for 43 days when eventually they were sacked on April 13, remarked Harsh. “And after their ouster, they have suddenly appeared as the sympathizers of public rebuking their own govt and charging it of working under the tutelage of Geelani, a realization which has dawned upon them, a bit too late”.
Ridiculing further the BJP leaders for their empty rhetoric in yesterday’s meeting over the issues of deportation of Rohingyas, Bangladeshis and withdrawal of directives on ‘tribal encroachments’, Mr. Singh said that saffron leaders were only making mockery of themselves by such vague statements. He said that people had seen their real faces behind their deceptive facades and would no longer be hoodwinked or misled by such absurd meaningless statements. BJP Ministers were blindly following the dictum “there’s not to make reply, there’s not to reason why” said Harsh adding further that their role was confined merely to carry out the orders of Mehbooba Mufti.
Prominent among those who spoke on the occasion included Rajesh Padgotra, Gagan Partap Singh, Parshotam Parihar, Khajoor Singh, Paramjit Singh Marshall, Rajesh Gondhi, Neeraj Gupta, Stiffness Gill, Rashpaul Singh, Udhayveer Singh, Rakesh Verma, Rahul besides others.
