Municipal Committee Katra seizes 300 qtls Polythene

KATRA, Apr 19: Muni cipal Committee Katra has seized 300 qtls Polythene and realized fine to the tune of Rs 10,000/- from the defaulter in first three days of ongoing drive during a month long anti polythene drive at Katra. 120 Municipal Workers and employees have already been deployed in the drive to check the menace of polythene on daily basis. “Municipal Committee Katra has acquainted the general Public, yatries and commercial establishments not to use the polythene in the town which is the base camp of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi ji Shrine", the Chief Executive Officer Muni cipal Committee Katra, K.K Chalotra apprised.
He further appealed all to extend their cooperation to Municipal Committee to eradicate polythene from the town.
It was also given out that Municipal Committee Katra has kept the provision of Jute Bags to replace the Polythene Bags and hoardings and Banners have been installed alongwith distribution of pamphlet and daily announcements to aware the people regarding Polythene ban.
