Maximum temperature rises in most parts of HP

Shimla, Apr 24: The maximum temperatures rose by a few notches in most parts of Himachal Pradesh today, with Una recording the hottest in the region with a high of 38.5 degrees Celsius. The mercury breached 30 degrees Celsius mark at some places and Sundernagar, Nahan and Bhuntar recorded the maximum temperatures at 33.7 degrees Celsius, 31.7 degrees Celsius and 31 degrees Celsius.
The mercury rose to 21.6 degrees Celsius at Kalpa, 21.2 degrees Celsius at Manali and 17.9 degrees Celsius at Keylong, three to four degrees above normal. The day temperatures rose by a few notches and Una was the hottest in the region with a high of 38.5 degrees Celsius. Solan recorded maximum temperature at 29.6 degrees Celsius, followed by Palampur 28.8 degrees Celsius, Dharamsala 27.8 degrees Celsius, Shimla 24.5 degrees Celsius. Keylong was the coldest in the region with a low of 1.4 degrees Celsius, while Kalpa and Manali recorded the minimum temperatures at 5.2 degrees Celsius and 7 degrees Celsius, followed by Bhuntar 10.4 degrees Celsius, Dharamsala 10.8 degrees Celsius, Sundernagar 11.8 degrees Celsius, Solan 12.6 degrees Celsius, Shimla 12.7 degrees Celsius, Una 14.7 degrees Celsius.
The local Meteorological (MeT) office has warned of thunderstorm, accompanied by squall and hailstorm, in the mid and lower hills on April 27 and 28 and forecast another wet spell from April 25 onwards. Another western disturbance lies over the Himalayan region and thunderstorm, rains and hailstorm are likely in the lower and mid hills of Himachal, the MeT office said.
