SpiceJet to add 14 new flights from July 1

new delhi: SpiceJet on Monday announced the launch of 14 new domestic flights using a mix of its fleet of Boeing 737 and Bombardier Q-400 aircraft. From July 1, it will introduce new direct flights on the Pune-Patna, Chennai-Rajahmundry, Hyderabad-Calicut and Bengaluru-Tuticorin sectors. Additionally SpiceJet will also enhance its operations on the Delhi-Patna (second frequency), Bengaluru-Rajahmundry (second frequency) and Mumbai-Bengaluru (fifth frequency) sectors with non-stop additional frequencies. SpiceJet’s chief sales and revenue officer Shilpa Bhatia said: “We are rapidly expanding our fleet with new Boeing 737 aircraft and Q400 regional turboprops. This means addition of new routes and destinations for our customers with non-stop flights… the new flights will offer great synergies for travel from non-metros and small cities to a host of destinations on the domestic and international network via multiple onward connections.”
The new flights introduced on the Delhi-Patna, Mumbai-Bengaluru, and Chennai-Rajahmundry sectors will be operational daily. Whereas the frequencies introduced on the Hyderabad-Calicut, Bengaluru-Tuticorin and Bengaluru-Rajahmundry routes will be operational on all days except Tuesdays. Patna-Pune will be operational on all days except Saturday. “The airline has been pitching for more flights to non- metros and smaller cities from major airports in the country. With the new flights, passengers from the relatively small towns like Rajahmundry, Patna, Tuticorin and Calicut can now also easily travel to a host of other cities both on SpiceJet’s domestic as well as international network via multiple onward connections from key metros like Bengaluru, Delhi, Chennai and Hyderabad,” the airline said in a statement.
