Traffic Jammu goes tough on ‘overcharging’ by auto Rickshaws

Jammu, Jun 19: With growing complaints about auto Rickshaw drivers from Crowded areas charging excess fare from Tourists, Pilgrims, Commuters etc. Joginder Singh, SSP Traffic City Jammu had directed their all Subordinates that they will launch a special drive to ensure proper metering, proper uniforms and Over charging by Auto Rickshaws plying within their respective jurisdictions.
"It has been observed that the Auto Rickshaws across the Jammu City continue to fleece passengers, particularly Tourists and Pilgrims by charging exorbitantly from them", Said Addl.SP, PD Sharma.
DySP (T) City North Sunny Gupta along with DTI Old City Inspr Rakesh Kumar Visited many places of old City like Parade, Kachi Chowani, Panjtirthi etc. and chalans Various Auto Rickshaws and other vehicles, who have visible offences. In South City Jammu DySP RajPaul Singh along with DTI Bikram Chowk Inspr Harminder Singh also visited Bikram Chowk, Asia Crossing, Gole Market and challaned no. Of Auto Rickshaws, who were without meters, uniforms, Overcharged etc.
On the Other hand, DySP (T) Dheeraj Katoch along with their Squad laid down Naka's at Gajansoo Marh area in the outskirts of Jammu City and prosecuted the Overload /Negl igence/ Over speed/ Rash driving Mini buses, Buses and other Vehicles etc.
