Azad’s tenure led J&K into era of development and growth: Saroori

CHAMOTI, Jun 24: Reaching out to the people of Tehsil Drabshalla in district Kishtwar, PCC Vice President and MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori held a public grievance redressal meeting at Chamoti area to stock of the people's problems and developmental needs.
The people apprised MLA Inderwal about the problems being faced by them in their areas. The problems which were highlighted by people were mainly related to filling of vacant posts in sub-centres/ISM health sub centres, drinking water facility, early completion of road projects, issue of new ration cards for BPL section, potable drinking water, early clearance of payment in-favour of MGNREGA job card holders, construction of bathrooms under IHHL scheme, timely distribution of ration and opening of new Aganwari centres.
While addressing the gathering, Saroori said that the former Chief Minister J&K Ghulam Nabi Azad tenure has led the J&K state into the era of development and growth. He said whatever Mr. Azad said in his statement regarding the Kashmir issue is the truth and ground reality in the Kashmir. Saroori expre-ssed serious concern over the continuous killings of civilians in Kashmir and said that "with no letup in the killing of people, especially youth, it has once again come to fore that there is no respect for humans in the Valley." He said "life in Kashmir has become very tough as in some places; situation is quite similar to that of early 90's."
He took the feedback from the officials of various departments present there. He urged the officials to prove their best in solving the public grievances and timely completion of sanctioned developmental projects. He announced blacktopping on 10 km's long Machepal to Chamoti road which will be executed by PMGSY department and said within a year time, said developmental work will be completed. He also emphasized that the prime motto of his as MLA is to address the all public issues on priority basis. He said that Congress is committed to reach up to the last man living in the most neglected sections of the society.
Regarding electricity problems in the area, Saroori said that Saubhagya, DDU, RGGVY phase II schemes will provide electricity to every nook and corner of Inderwal constituency within a year time besides 63kv transformers will be installed in place of 25kv. He said that the delay was due to tendering process and said that work on the said schemes will be start at an earliest. He said that funds have been released to clear the previous liabilities under MGNREGA and called upon the officers to ensure that timely wages are being released to the job seekers in lieu of work done in a transparent manner. He also said that strenuous efforts are being made to get all liability under the scheme liquidated very shortly.
