Raina appointed Advocate General


SRINAGAR, Jul 11: Governor N NVohra today appointed D C Raina as the advocate general of Jammu and Kashmir.
"In exercise of the powers conferred under section 42 of the Constitution of Jammu and Kashmir and in supersession of notification SRO 180 dated June 3, 2016, the Governor is pleased to appoint Shri D C Raina, Senior Advocate as Advocate General for the State, said an order by Department of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs.
Raina has held the same post in 2016 when Governor's rule was imposed in the state following the demise of then chief minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and subsequent stalemate between the PDP and BJP over government formation. The Governor also accorded sanction to the acceptance of resignation of JehangirIqbalGanaie, who was serving as the advocate general during the PDP-BJP coalition government in the state.
Then write Mr D C RainaSr Advocate has been appointed as the State Advocate General for the third time during the Governor's rule. "He is a member of the Shree Amarnath Shrine Board and the Legal Advisor of Shree Mata Vaisho Devi Shrine Board. "He is a soft spoken, effective and erudite lawyer."He is one of the few Senior Advocates of Jammu who has been designated as a senior advocate of High Court. "In his previous term as Advocate General he effectively handled the State Govt cases before Apex Court, NGT and the High Court.
