Kavinder, Sat tours rain affected areas

AMMU, Aug 13: In order to take stock of losses caused by the heavy rains in Jammu, Former Deputy CM and MLA Kavinder Gupta and Former Minister MLA Sat Sharma (CA) visited rain affected areas of Janipur Excelsior Lane & adjoining areas and listened to the grievances of the people. Accompanied by Officials of JMC (Jammu Municipal Corporation), UEED officials, local residents, political and social activists of the area, both leaders gave a patient hearing to the problems faced by the people.DC Jammu Ramesh Kumar, SDM North Ilyas Khan also accompanied the leaders during their visit.
In a press statement issued, Kavinder Gupta said that he immediately instructed the administration of JMC as well to immediately start the cleaning works as soon as possible in order to ensure that the lives of people is restored back to normal.
He also directed the officials of the UEED (Urban Environmental Engineering Department) to immediately lift the garbage and also take up the compulsory construction works hs in order to provide a better infrastructure to the public.
Sat Sharma stated that once for all he wants to end the problem of Nullah in Excelsior Lane Janipur as in every Monsoon season people suffer a lot and it will be a matter of big concern if their problems are not solved in time.
Sat Sharma also visited rain affected areas of Ward 40 and 41 of Jammu West and interacted with the masses as well where damages were caused due to heavy rains. He also assured the masses that all their problems will be solved as soon as possible.
On the direction of both the leaders, the Deputy Commissioner was also instructed to check and assess the amount of losses caused and the DC was also directed to compensate those who have genuinely lost so much in the heavy rains.
