3 Manimahesh pilgrims die in HP’s Chamba

Shimla, Sep 16: Three pilgrims died Sunday during Manimahesh Yatra in separate incidents in Himachal Pradesh's Chamba district, police said.
They died due to different ailments on their way to Manimahesh, situated at an altitude of 13,000 feet at the foot of the Kailash peak, Chamba Superintendent of Police Monica Bhutunguru said. The SP said the deceased were identified as Vikramjeet (45) of Ghared village in Chamba district, Ganesh Yadav (50) of Ambro village in Gopalganj district of Bihar and Jeeevika (3) of Khankot village in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Yadav died at Harsar, Vikramjeet at Bandar Ghati due to suffocation and chest pain, whereas three-year-old Jeeevika died at Sundrasi. All the three bodies were brought to Bharmour hospital and handed over to their family members after post-mortem. The official yatra this year began on September 3 and will end tomorrow, a district official said.
