Army celebrates "World Food Day" in Rajouri

JAMMU, Oct 17: "World Food Day" was celebrated by Indian Army at Govt Middle School, Thattiali in Rajouri district.World Food Day is celebrated every year around the world on 16 October in honour of the date of the founding of the Food and Agriculture organisation of the United Nations in 1945. World Food Day aims at creating public awareness on the food problems worldwide and uniting all people to fight hunger, malnutrition and poverty. During the event, the audiences were made aware about how our changing planet affects food production and distribution. The aim of the event was to set goals that will eventually lead to building a Zero Hunger Generation. The event also provided education to participants on ways they can change simple daily habits and decisions to make a difference. The awareness drive was well received by the audience. The students and the teachers thanked the Army for conducting such awareness programmes.
