GDC Mendhar students visit JU Botanical Garden; interacts with VC

Jammu, Oct 19: Stud-ents from Government Degree College, Mendher who were on a Biological Tour to the Botanical Garden of the University of Jammu interacted with Prof. Manoj K.Dhar, Vice-Chancellor, University of Jammu. Prof. Sarshad Hussain from GDC Men-dhar accompanied the students. The research scholars of the Department of Botany were also present during the interaction wherein carrier options and importance of the Plant Sciences subject was discussed in length.
Later on Prof. Dhar had an informal meeting with the faculty of Department of Botany and also discussed about the necessary reforms to be made in the curriculum for better acceptability and placement of the students in the present competitive scenario. Prof. Dhar was accompanied by Dean, Faculty of Life Sciences, Prof. Geeta Sumbali throughout his visit. Other who were present during the event include Prof. Namrata Sharma(HOD), Prof. Yash Pal Sharma, Prof. Veenu Kaul, Dr. Sikander, Dr. Geeta, Dr. Harish Chan-der, Dr. Skarma, Dr. Uma Bharti, Dr. Harpreet, Dr. Sakshi, Mr. Nitin (Cura-tor), Hari Chand (Herb-arium Keeper) and other non-teaching members of the Department of Botany.
