Panchayat Polls: Training session held for ROs/AROs in Rajouri

RAJOURI, Oct 20: In view of upcoming panchayat elections training session for ROs/AROs of District Rajouri held today at conference Hall of Govt PG College Rajouri. The training program was conducted by four master trainers.
The trainees were acquainted with the operation of EVMs and allied papers for the smooth conduct of forthcoming panchayat elections. A total of 435 ROs/ AROs from different Depar-tments attended the training.
The training was moderated by the Nodal officer for Training, Assistant Commissioner Develop-ment Rajouri Akhter Qazi under the overall supervision and directions of District Election Officer (DEO) Rajouri, Mohammad Aijaz Asad.
Speaking on the occasion the ACD Rajouri said that it is essential for every ROs/AROs to understand his role and responsibilities properly and thereafter they shall perform their duties in a professional and most competent manner for the successful conduct of panchayat elections in the district. He advised the trainees to go through the Election handbooks for acquiring proper knowledge about the poll process. He said that all facilities and proper support from the district administration will be provided to both Returning and assistant returning officers.
During the training, the participants were briefed about the duties and functions of Returning and Assistant Returning officers. He asked both ROs/AROs to perform their duties with utmost dedication and strictly adhere to the guidelines of Chief Electoral officer for smooth conduct of panchayat Election.
The training to polling staff was provided by Mohd. Younis Chaudhary, Chief Agriculture Officer Rajouri, Abdul Jabar, Programme Manager DIC Rajouri, Ankush Sharma, Instructor, ITI Rajouri, Ali Arshad, ERMS Operator, Amim-ul-Hassan, Master HS Kalalkass.
