Anila Singh Charak, a well- known Hindi writer and poetess has come up with a show of her paintings executed during a period of about one and half decades. She has a number of paintings and photographs to be displayed. A blend of realistic, expressionist and 'poetic imagery' based paintings in acrylics can be seen in this exhibition. Anila has an instinct for art from the childhood and she was aware of it. She tested her hand on painting. As a result, she created paintings which are now an expression of the integrated concepts of her poetry in her paintings.
In the first category of her paintings, she has used her skill and observation and explored her love towards nature.
Her paintings in this category depict serenity of nature. The paintings of the second category depict her poetical statements and responses towards the outer world.
The paintings are symbolically powered through poetical imagery. The third category of paintings depicts her faith in the mystic nature and intuitive perceptions. In these paintings she has depicted the cosmic powers seeing through the eyes spread all over in the paintings. At times Shiva Linga is shown in the paintings to make her statements clear of any doubt.
Her faith on omnipresent God is established through these works. Here her metaphysical approach in her concepts is explored.
Anila Singh Charak has written three books and the fourth one is in the pipeline of publication. The present show is the maiden solo- show by her. She has participated in State exhibitions of J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, national level art exhibition and International art exhibition at Amritsar and Jammu by Jammu and Kashmir Centre for Creative Arts, Jammu, International art exhibition at Modern Art Gallery of International Reorich Memorial Trust, Naggar (Kullu).
