JKHCBA holds condolence meet

JAMMU, OCT 20: J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu, held a condolence meeting in the J&K High Court at Jammu on 20th day of October, 2018, to condole the sad demise of 61 innocent people & 72 injured at Joda Phatak Amritsar (Punjab) where large number of people had gathered to watch' Ravana Dahan' at a ground adjacent to the Railway track. The condolence meeting was held under the chairmanship of B.S. Slathia, President of J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu and other office bearers namely Sachin Gupta, Vice President, Prem N. Sadotra, General Secretary, Himanshu Sharma, Joint Secretary & Chetan Misri, Treasurer.
Speaking on the occasion Slathia strongly criticized the negligent approach of the Railway authorities & the local Administration of the area due to which 61 innocent people have been died and 72 injured as train had run over the people witnessing Dussehra. The local administration was supposed to take adequate measures to ensure the safety of the people over there in absence whereof this tragic incident had happened, could have been avoided.
The lawyers present in the meeting have observed one minute silence as a mark of respect to the departed souls
