VC JU inaugurates MOOCS online Course

Jammu, Oct 22: Prof. Manoj K. Dhar, Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu today inaugurated a week-long online course (MOOCS) for the University and College teachers being organized by UGC HRDC, University of Jammu.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Dhar emphasized the need for such courses in the contemporary educational scenario. He also spoke at length about online teaching especially for the students of far flung areas.
He called upon the participating teachers to make best use of the opportunity so that they can further facilitate online teaching for the students.
Prof. Y Narasimhulu, Director, HRDC, Hyder-abad University and Prof. K. Srinivas, Head ICT & Project Management Unit, National Institute of Education Planning and Administration (NIEPA) also spoke on the occasion.
Prof. J. P. Singh Joorel, Director, HRDC explained the different areas of online study that would be covered during the week long online Course.
Earlier, Ranjit Kalra, Teaching Faculty, HRDC welcomed the guests and briefed the participating teachers about the invited resource persons.
Around sixty teachers are participating in this course.
