DC Kargil reviews arrangements of Chehlum of Imam Hussain (AS)

KARGIL, OCT 22: Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC, Kargil, Vikas Kundal today chaired a meeting to review arrangements of Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (A.S) to be observed on October 30, 2018. The meeting reviewed arrangements for Chehlum processions and congregations to be held across Kargil Town and other areas of the district.
Superintendent of Police Kargil, Dr Vinod Kumar, senior officers of the district and representatives of Islamia School Kargil (ISK) and Imam Khomeini Memorial Trust (IKMT) attended the meeting.
Issues pertaining to the deployment of magistrates, uninterrupted power supply, water supply, availability and deployment of doctors and ambulances, traffic management, installation of Public Address System, sanitation of roads from where processions will pass, security, traffic management besides other necessary arrangements were discussed threadbare.Addressing the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner asked the concerned departments to make requisite arrangements well in time so as to ensure the smooth conduct of mourning congregations and procession. He stressed on better coordination among the religious organisations and the concerned department so that all possible service delivery can be ensured during observance of Chehlum.
In another meeting, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed the activities of Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS) of district Kargil. He also reviewed the progress of the schemes achieved during the current financial year so far.
During the meeting, detailed discussion was held on POSHAN Abhiyaan and Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojna (PMMVY) schemes.
It was informed that under Poshan Abhiyan, 42 Awareness Camps were conducted so far and 1363 beneficiaries were benefited. It was also given out in the meeting that under PMMVY, an amount of Rs 21.49 Lakh has been transferred into individual accounts of 851 pregnant ladies of the district Kargil. Taking stock of the supplementary nutrition, the DC asked the concerned to ensure the availability of the same.The DC also stressed for an integrated approach for the effective implementation of various welfare schemes.The meeting was attended by the District Programme Officer, ICDS, Kargil Smt. Nargis Banoo and all Child Development Programme Officers of the district.
